Kait Turshen is a retail entrepreneur and curator based in Shaker Heights, Ohio, and the founder of SLFMKR, a modern clean beauty and self-care apothecary, and Well Stocked, a consciously curated kitchen and home goods store. With a professional background in the New York City fashion and beauty industry, Kait built her career at the intersection of branding, merchandising, and consumer experience before relocating to Northeast Ohio.

Her personal health journey — shaped by a growing focus on wellness, clean living, and the challenges of sourcing non-toxic products outside major metropolitan markets — became the catalyst for entrepreneurship. While living in New York, she embraced clean beauty and holistic self-care. After moving to Cleveland, she found the process fragmented and inaccessible, which inspired her to create a destination for wellness retail.

In 2020, she launched SLFMKR at the Van Aken District in Shaker Heights, Ohio as a highly curated space centered on individualized guidance, education, and elevated clean beauty and self-care, redefining what it means to be “self-made” through personal health and well-being.  The concept later expanded into a second retail store, Well Stocked, opened in 2025 as a natural extension of her philosophy — translating clean, intentional living from beauty into the kitchen and home through thoughtfully selected goods and everyday rituals.

Today, Kait's work blends fashion-industry sensibility with wellness advocacy, creating retail environments that merge aesthetics, education, and conscious consumption while helping customers build healthier, more intentional lifestyles.
