Meet the Author

A home with personality.

Sophie von Oertzen Williamson, founder of Sophie Williamson Design, is known for boldly layered spaces, joyful color, and a fearless mix of styles.

Inspired by travel, history, and nature, her work celebrates interiors that feel collected rather than decorated—personal, welcoming, and wonderfully imperfect.

Her new book, The Art of the Clash, is a celebration of individuality and the unexpected.

The Conversation

Where the story began.

At the heart of the evening is a Shaker Heights home—and a creative collaboration that helped inspire Sophie's journey into interior design.

Sophie will be joined by Dawn Cook to revisit their work together, the ideas that shaped the home, and the joy of creating spaces that break from convention.

The conversation will be moderated by Danielle Harper of The Fleur de Lis House, with a closer look at the stories and philosophy behind Sophie's new book.
